'Soul' | The Future of Streaming

For the first time ever, we review an animated film on the Get Your Film Fix Podcast!  Disney made the radical decision to release Pixar's Soul on Disney+ on Christmas Day, after delaying the film from it's summer release.  We discuss the film's innovative design and powerful storytelling, as well as Pixar's storied filmography and exceptional batting average.  

Finally, continuing our ongoing discussion of the Hollywood and streaming services, we debate Warner Bros. decision to fast track a Wonder Woman sequel after the successful performance of WW 1984 over Christmas.

'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' | 'WW 1984'

'Tenet' | Cruise's COVID Rant

After 4 long months, Christopher Nolan's time bending new film arrives in...er....on our TVs....or iPhones...or laptops....  It's not IMAX, but we finally saw Tenet, the film arguably most contested and discussed during this pandemic.  Does it live up to your anticipation?  Where does it fall in our Nolan filmography rankings?

'A Hidden Life' | Desert Island Flicks

Terrence Malick has been a filmmaker we've talked a lot about but haven't reviewed one of his film's since 2011's The Tree of Life.  The reclusive director returned to a more (relative) narrative structure in 2019 with A Hidden Life, a period film set in Austria during World War II.  Now available on VOD, we look at the Malick's storied career and our thoughts (and feelings) about his unique filmmaking technique.  

Then, taking a page from Cast Away, we make some hard decisions on the films we'd choose if we were stuck on a desert island.
